Rochester UCA

TEXTURE & WOODGRAINING COURSE

Scenic art

I started at the Royal Opera House on their apprenticeship programme, which has fuelled my enthusiasm to share theatrical scenic art and offer practical assistance on some of the fundamental techniques used in the industry. Besides assisting with interactive Family Day events at institutions such as the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal Opera House, I have also run practical sessions for students at Rochester University of Creative Arts. Workshops can be tailored to meet your needs. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Woodgraining and optional overlaid trompe l'oeil features

  • Textured surfaces such as brickwork

  • Marbling effects and finishes

  • Signwriting

  • Large-scale drawing and painting
